HTC

HTC's Advantage is part smartphone, part mini-laptop with a lot of features crammed inside. At first glance, HTC’s Advantage could be mistaken for two devices. It’s either a very large cell phone or an amazing wireless

World's first super smartphone

If its uses Windows Mobile it is definitely not a 'smart' phone but a 'dumb' one. Of course it worked with you Exchange email--MS pretty much has that one proprietary and locked down (and the EU is fining over that by the way). WHile the iPhone is not corporate ready..yet. You program it to be what you want it to be. Phone, PDA, internet, TV/MP3, garage door opener, automatic gate openers at gated communities and parking garages, auto keyless entry device, arm/disarm your home or auto security system, and/or control TV and home entertainment systems, both yours or if selected any bar TV you happen to be in front of. OK, but can you when you need to? If not what happens when you are in line at the coffee shop and the phone rings? You either fumble around for the headset in your pocket or else blast away on the speakerphone?

Otherwise I like it. Windows mobile is rather slow and clunky and you have to drill down in typical windows fashion to get to many of the features. At least ver 5 is and I doubt ver 6 is a lot different. Maybe the faster processor will make this tolerable.

World's first super smartphone

I hope it's better than the TYTN, after using that for about a month, it would constantly lock up when I needed to use it. $700 and I threw it in the trash!

World's first super smartphone

OK, now we're getting somewhere. The screen and keyboard might be usable (unlike all smart phones) and the leap to just using a headset is not too great. Now, if it can do decent handwriting recognition it could be used for taking notes in meetings and trainings; Now that would be useful! Kind of a mini tablet PC without the pricetag.

World's first super smartphone

JD.
